Johary Mustapha is a techpreneur and CEO. A hands-on technical person, he founded Forest Interactive in 2006 from his earlier background of working in the Broadcasting and ICT industries.
Johary has a long historical understanding of the tech ecosystem, specifically the mobile industry and its growth in Southeast Asia and all over the world.
His vast experience in the business has enabled him to grow the company to a diverse workforce of 15 nationalities, expanding market reach across 30+ countries.
Besides being awarded accolades such as EY Technology Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year at ACES Awards, he is also recognized in the Leadership Commitment category of UN Women Malaysia Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards 2022.
Johary's efforts in bridging the gap between mobile operators, content providers, and game publishers with their subscribers have enabled him to tap into markets in developing countries, providing opportunity for local employment and mobile purchasing capabilities.
In 2021, he also founded the Forest Interactive Foundation, through which he continues the company’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, shaping future innovators in schools and universities all over Malaysia, encouraging environmental stewardship among the youths, and addressing inequity in underserved communities.
