Mevan is the Chief Executive Officer of Hatch - an Innovation & Entrepreneurship development organization based in Sri Lanka that offers Co-working spaces, designs and implements Incubator & Accelerator programs in multiple sectors. Hatch has a network of over 700 Startups in Sri Lanka, with offices in Singapore and the UAE.
Mevan serves on the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee for SME & Entrepreneurship Development and is also a Business Consultant providing a solutions-based approach on Strategy, Operations & Marketing. He has held managerial positions in Hospitality, FMCG and Consumer Technology companies and was listed in the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2020 under the Technology category, during his time as Head of Operations for PickMe Food (competing with UberEats)
His career highlights include being the Head of Marketing of Elephant House Beverages, a leading FMCG Brand in Sri Lanka as well as handling Brand Marketing for Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts - a 15 property Leisure brand across Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
In 2022 and 2023, Mevan was a NatWest Business Mentor in the UK and was attached to the Warwick Innovation District at the University of Warwick. He was also a Business Mentor for the Siemens Next47 Global Intrapreneurship programme in 2023.
Mevan was chosen as a Chevening Scholar by the UK FCDO and holds an MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship from the University of Warwick, a BSc in International Relations and a Diploma in Economics from the University of London.
Mevan has been associated with the World Economic Forum since 2015 and from 2019-2021 he was elected to serve on the Advisory Council of the Global Shapers Community consisting of 11,000+ inspiring young people from 155 countries.
