Ms Jiang Xiheng is the Vice President of China Center for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD), an institution affiliated with the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), P. R. China. CIKD was announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping at United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in 2015, with the mission to do development studies and share development knowledge, promote international development cooperation and sustainable development. Before she took this position in April 2017, Ms Jiang was the Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, DRC. In recent years, she has focused on the research of the UN 2030 Agenda and the Belt and Road Initiative. She leads the CIKD team in drafting China’s SDG progress report, and organizing the Sustainable Development Forum. She is the executive director for CIKD flagship program Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality: China’s Strategy and Global Outlook.
Ms Jiang is a member of the high-level panel of experts for the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index for Small Island Developing States, appointed by the UN General Assembly. She is also a co-leader for South-South Cooperation and sustainable development in Green Belt and Road International Coalition, a member of the advisory group for G20 development desk and sustainable infrastructure desk, a member of the consultative committee of New Industrial Revolution Partnership for BRICS. She was a member of the Advisory Board of the UN 2020 Human Development Report. Ms. Jiang got master’s degrees in public policy from the University of Oxford and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences respectively. She is currently a doctoral candidate on development studies at Peking University.
