Andrew Baer is Head of Sustainable Procurement at S&P Global, where he leads the company's sustainable procurement strategy across a global supplier network. He works at the intersection of procurement, climate strategy, and supplier engagement, helping integrate sustainability into purchasing decisions while navigating the practical realities faced by large, service-based organizations.

Andrew has more than 30 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier risk management. He serves as Vice Chair of the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC), is on the Board of the Low Impact Hydropower Institute, and is a founding member of the UN Global Compact's Collaborative for Sustainable Procurement.

Through the Collaborative, he contributed to the development of the UN Global Compact's publication Procurement: A Catalyst for Sustainable Growth & Resilience, including S&P Global's supplier engagement case study. Most recently Andrew contributed to the development of the Scope 3 Peer Group's new governance framework and implementation tools for managing Scope 3 emissions.

Andrew believes procurement is uniquely positioned to accelerate sustainable business transformation when environmental ambition is grounded in commercial reality and led by procurement professionals.
