With a career spanning over two decades at the ILO, Sukti Dasgupta currently serves as the Director of the Employment, Skills and Sustainable Enterprises Department at the ILO headquarters in Geneva. She assumed this role after holding various key positions, including Director of the Conditions of Work and Equality De Chief of the Employment, Labour Markets, and Youth branch in Geneva and Head of the Asia Pacific Regional Research and Analyses Unit in Bangkok.

Sukti holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University in the UK and has published extensively on employment, structural transformation, gender and informality. Her recent co-edited books focus on women’s work in Asia, youth employment policies and the impact of robotics and reshoring on jobs.

Highly experienced in collaborating with policy makers, employers’ and workers’ organizations, Sukti now leads an expanded team supporting the ILO’s work to promote full and productive employment, strengthen skills and lifelong learning systems, foster productivity ecosystems, and create an enabling environment for sustainable enterprises development.
