Juergen Esser is Deputy CEO & CFO of DANONE, one of the world’sleaders in the food industry, headquartered in France. He was nominated Deputy CEO in January 2023 after he became CFO and member of the Executive Committee of the company in November 2020. Since he joined DANONE in year 2000, he served in different roles in Finance, Strategy and Business Development, across various geographies and categories. Juergen studied political economies at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-University in Bonn/Germany and started his professional career in the audit department of PwC in Germany, where we spend 3 years before joining DANONE.

His passion has always been to build a business model which creates value-for-all, by combining financial performance and sustainability for maximum impact. Juergen is Chairman of the board of the Livelihoods Carbon Fund I/II, seeking for climate change resilience with strong social & economic impact.
