Akiko Nakamura is the vice president of the Sustainability Strategy Acceleration Department in Shiseido, one of the leading beauty companies in the world. She began her career in brand marketing in Japan and Asian regions of a global FMCG company. In 2011, she joined Shiseido for a position in global marketing, and in 2015, she was transferred to the Corporate Strategy Department and engaged in global business management. Through her experience on corporate strategy management, she strengthened her belief that embedding sustainability in business strategy was essential for a global company like Shiseido. From 2019, she worked on sustainability strategy development, leading to her setting up mid-term company goals and initiating sustainability actions. In 2022, she was appointed to the current position and is now responsible for Shiseido’s corporate sustainability.
