International Labour Organization (ILO)
Patrick Belser is Senior Economist, Wage Specialist, at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva. He is the coordinator of the global wages team that leads the work on living wages in the ILO, advises ILO Member states on wage policies, and publishes the ILO Global Wage Report, a flagship report of the ILO published every two years since 2008. He holds a D.Phil. in economics from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at the University of Sussex (U.K.) and also studied at the Graduate Institute for International Studies in Geneva (Switzerland) and at Columbia University in New York (U.S.A). He has published several articles and book chapters on topic ranging from forced labour to minimum wages.
