Description

The endorsement of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights by the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2011 provided, for the first time, a globally recognized and authoritative framework for the respective duties and responsibilities of Governments and business enterprises to prevent and address adverse impacts on people resulting from globalization and business activity in all sectors. Corporate responsibility to respect human rights means companies should act beyond policy commitments.

Now in its second year, The UN Global Compact is running a Business & Human Rights (BHR) Accelerator that aims to equip companies with the tools and knowledge to establish an ongoing human rights due diligence process and support them in meeting their responsibility to respect human rights. Join us for an informative interactive workshop comprised of small group discussions, peer-learning and  drawing on experience and actions from previous Business & Human Rights Accelerator Ambassadors and Participants implementing human rights due diligence processes. This session aims to inspire all attendees to move beyond commitment and compliance, towards acting to “know and show” that their organizations are respecting human rights, no matter the size of the business or its stage on the journey towards corporate sustainability.
