Description

The UN Global Compact is honored to have renowned futurist Amy Webb presenting her latest groundbreaking research on a world changing event that you may not even realize has begun.

We have entered a Technology Supercycle– spurred by the convergence of  AI, biotechnology, and connected ecosystems of things– which will result in a prolonged period of rapid technological advancements and widespread adoption that significantly transforms economies and societies. The coming wave of innovation is robust and all-encompassing, and it is poised to fundamentally reshape our existence in ways that are both positive and problematic. This paradigm shift promises a future that is as exciting as it is challenging, signaling a new era of unprecedented technological integration and economic transformation.

When entering an unprecedented era, the best way forward is intensive collaboration. In this talk, Amy Webb will walk us through the implications of the Technology Supercycle- globally and regionally, specific scenarios that may result, and why public-private partnerships are essential in facing this wave of change together. The opportunities from the innovations to come have the potential to dramatically progress the Sustainable Development Goals- so long as we ‘proact’ rather than react.
