Mrs Walaa El-Husseiny is the Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Egypt. She has over 20 years of professional experience at private and public sectors with emphasis on corporate governance, regulatory affairs, business development and sustainability.

Mrs. El-Husseiny holds extensive experience with establishing Corporate Governance mechanisms in large state owned enterprises, large family owned businesses/private sector groups, and non-profit organizations. Furthermore, Mrs. El-Husseiny handled various advisory and consulting positions for local and regional entities, as she was responsible for managing all activities related to the research and promotion for the establishment of new Egyptian & foreign companies, as well as contributing to the formation of Egypt's 2030 vision.

In 2005, Mrs. El-Husseiny was appointed as the advisor to the Chair of General Authority for Investment and Free Zones Advisor, where she was responsible of Egypt's Investment Promotion. In her capacity as Sr. advisor, she acted as the National Focal Point for the Egyptian government and other international organizations where she established “Egypt’s National Contact Point” with OECD.
