Africa is no longer just asking for fairer finance; it is building its own systems to change the game. A new generation of African-owned banks, insurers, fintechs, and sovereign balance sheets is designing the vehicles, guarantees, and platforms that move capital on the continent's own terms. This session showcases that build-out from the inside: institutions that have scaled to systemic size, market-based facilities addressing African sovereign liquidity, and the sovereign policy voices shaping how that capital is regulated and deployed. Together they make the case that Africa's own institutions — not external validation — are becoming the primary engine financing the continent, in service of genuine financial sovereignty.
