Abena Asomaning Antwi (PhD) is an award-winning humanitarian, academic, TV host and prolific writer with many publications to her credit. She has a PhD. in Health Economics from the University of Lille (France).

She is the Managing Director of the Africa Environmental Sanitation Consult (AFES Consult), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, that focuses on research in Environmental Sanitation - notable work under environmental sanitation is the ongoing flagship project called Data Audit and Validation Exercise (DAVE) that seeks to collect data on waste management from over Five million households in the capital city of Accra. AfES Consult is also involved in Feasibility/Baseline Studies, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Environmental Governance, Climate Change, Circular Economy, Health Advocacy and the provision of data to support business growth and sustainability.

She is a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). Additionally, she is an authority and advocate for health, environment and sustainable development. She has expertise in carbon trading, climate change and environmental management.

She is the driving force behind the national “Trash Talk” TV show initiative by AFES Consult, which seeks to inspire and encourage a change in the public's perspective toward climate change and environmental sustainability.

Dr. Antwi is a leading voice for human rights, leadership, management, and entrepreneurship. She believes that women will have a fair chance of being positive change agents and leaders when given the appropriate support systems and resources.

For her outstanding humanitarian work with women and contributions toward development in Ghana, she received the ‘MTN Heroes of Change Award for Social Protection’ in 2014 and the ‘Points of Light Award’ from the Queen of England in 2018. In addition, the President of France recognized her contributions at the ‘Femme de Jour’ for women achievers in Africa in 2019.
