Description

The Latin American Networks have agreed on the fact that Latin America is a diverse “powerhouse”. Along with the Caribbean, these two Regions embrace relevant species and ecosystems that are key to the planet conservation and climate change challenge.

According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), around sixty percent of global terrestrial life, and diverse freshwater and marine species, can be found within Latin America and the Caribbean. Protecting Latin America's biodiversity is key to meeting global climate goals, and businesses have raised this awareness through the development of relevant actions and projects in different countries.

It is a shared responsibility of Government, Business and Civil Society; the three sectors that will be sharing this plenary to show the advances and good practices moving towards a sustainable recovery in Latin America, and the positive contributions mainly to SDGs 14 and 15.
