Salma Houerbi is the Senior Manager of the UN Global Compact Target Gender Equality Accelerator. She holds a master's degree in Business and International Development from Copenhagen Business School. Before joining the UN Global Compact, Salma served as a Business and Human Rights Advisor at the Danish Institute for Human Rights. In this role, she provided technical guidance to businesses and governments on effectively addressing business-related gender and human rights risks, particularly within the Africa and MENA regions.

Earlier in her career, Salma worked at the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre, where she highlighted corporate human rights impacts through research and writing. She also collaborated with the International Labour Organization in Jordan and the Gulf regions, contributing to the design of gender-responsive multi-stakeholder initiatives in the apparel industry. Salma is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
