Daniel Palmer leads business development and partnerships for Upstream Tech’s HydroForecast, a theory-guided machine learning service to accurately and reliably predict water supply and flows. Upstream Tech and its parent company, Natel Energy, have recently been recognized as a member of the Cleantech 100, a Fast Company World Changing Idea, and a US Department of Energy Clean Energy Champion. At Upstream Tech, Daniel has forged collaborations with water-focused and impacted businesses around the world, including the largest dam operators and hydropower producers in North America, agricultural companies, conservation NGOs, the Department of Energy, and leading water utilities. Daniel has led numerous collaborations to deploy innovative technologies at critical institutions, including scaling a startup-government partnership program across the United States, managing award-winning public-private partnerships for US Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg when he was mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and launching a private community development investment fund.
