Allan Cannon is the Co-founder and CEO of Scottish space technology scale up Krucial – which enables any industry and organization to digitize their assets and operations, no matter where they are on the planet.

Setting the commercial direction across the business, Allan manages a highly skilled team of technical, operations and sales professionals. He also led the company’s $4.3m seed round, securing support from North American investors led by Space Capital, as well as Scottish investors including the Scottish National Investment Bank. Krucial has since commercialised multiple products, undertaken numerous proof-of-concept trials in multiple industries and grown to a team of around 25 employees.

Allan has been heavily involved in a number of water monitoring projects during his career, including a successful ocean colour monitoring mission launch in collaboration with NASA and, since joining Krucial, ocean environmental monitoring for a salmon farmer, and flood monitoring technology with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Previously, Allan was Head of Missions at satellite technology firm Clyde Space. He has significant experience in delivering complex multi-million defence, aerospace and spacecraft design projects having spent more than 10 years’ in the defence and aerospace industry across advanced technology, R&D, design and operations.

Allan is also a keen advocate for the next generation of entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists, and leaders. He currently sits on the board of CodeClan, a digital bootcamp accelerator, and is an active member of the Scottish tech ecosystem, regularly engaging with and speaking at conferences, events and founder sessions across Scotland and beyond.
