The war in Ukraine has caused food, fuel and fertilizer prices to skyrocket globally, further exacerbating the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation of the SDGs. The supply chain disruptions, the rising cost-of-living for employees, the shrinking fiscal space for governments have changed the operating environment for many businesses around the world, from large multinational corporations to micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises. While multilateral solutions are being developed and political will be mobilized, what can and should business do to navigate these challenges while pursuing our sustainability aspirations? This session will provide a space to discuss business-led solutions to these intersecting crises and their recommendations on urgent actions needed from policymakers.
