With the aim of fostering actionable dialogue to drive Africa’s sustainable economic development, the Africa Business Leaders Coalition (ABLC) CEO Roundtable brings together CEOs and business executives, government representatives, and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). This high-level roundtable centers around two critical themes: gender equality and climate finance. The event starts off with remarks from the UN Global Compact and a distinguished guest speaker, setting the stage for meaningful dialogue on Africa’s future in gender and climate. ABLC CEOs and Business Executives will then participate in closed-door discussions, exploring commitments outlined in the Africa Business Leaders’ gender statement, scheduled for launch the following day. Following the roundtable, CEOs and Business Executives have an exclusive opportunity to engage with DFIs on accessing climate financing.

About the Africa Business Leaders Coalition (ABLC)

The Africa Business Leaders Coalition (ABLC) was launched in 2022 as a pioneering coalition of Chief Executive Officers and Board Chairs of the most prominent companies in Africa (based on company size, geography and presence across the continent, sector representation, gender diversity and leadership, sustainability focus and UN Global Compact participation). The coalition of 65 companies collectively represent USD 150 billion in revenue and nearly one million employees and covers 50 of the 54 countries on the continent. As a unified voice of the African private sector, the coalition advocates on pressing pan-continental issues – initially focusing on climate action and expanding its thematic focus to advancing gender equality in 2024.
