THE LEADING VOICE OF BUSINESS
AT UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS BACK LIVE —
JOIN US FOR THE UN PRIVATE SECTOR FORUM.
With the COVID-19 pandemic in its third year and exacerbating food, energy, humanitarian and refugee crises caused by the war in Ukraine– all against the background of a full-fledged climate emergency, millions live in extreme poverty, and many continue to grapple with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, record inflation, supply chain issues, and rising food and fuel costs.
At the start of the high-level opening week of the 77th General Assembly week, the 2022 UN Private Sector Forum will convene the most dedicated Chief Executives from UN Global Compact companies and representatives from Governments, the United Nations and development agencies to address and align on an urgent and collective course of action in addressing these cascading and interlinked global crises. To recover from the pandemic and deliver global sustainability, we need an urgent rescue effort for the SDGs.
Scaling renewable energy can play a catalytic role in this effort, delivering a step change in climate and energy security and enabling progress on many of the economic and social priorities of the SDGs. To align and support the UN Secretary-General’s Global Crisis Response Group, global leaders at the Private Sector Forum will address the five-point renewable energy plan in context of just transition, finance and progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
