Paola is a sustainability professional with a 17-year track-record in environmental auditing, climate change mitigation, and corporate science-based target-setting. She helped launch and grow the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) (2014-2021), that helps companies define a path to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals. Currently, she is part of their Technical Advisory Group, advising on the development of the initiative’s technical resources.

She is the Chief Executive Officer of 21 HOLISTIK which supports not-for-profits and companies to incorporate the latest science around planetary boundaries into corporate governance and accountability. 21 HOLISTIK has been the trusted consulting firm of the UNGC Climate Ambition Accelerator for the past three years, and designs and delivers training on GHG accounting and science-based targets for members of the WWF Climate Business Network.

In the last year, she acted as the Validation Pilot Director for the Science Based Targets Network, which aims to set the bar for ambitious measurable corporate action on nature, including and building upon climate action. She’s now building the validation service of science-based targets for nature, in the Global Commons Alliance Accountability Accelerator.

Paola is an environmental engineer with a master’s degree in Climate Change from the Crawford School of Policy and Economics of the Australian National University.
