Youchul Kim is the Head of Strategy at LG AI Research, as LG Group's dedicated AI think tank, since 2021. He is responsible for R&D portfolio management, strategic partnerships and AI ethics governance. In charge of AI ethics governance, he led the release of the LG AI Ethics Principles, which define the fundamental principles and core values that LG employees must adhere to in order conduct ethical AI. In particular, he established and operates the AI Risk Management Process to proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise in the entire lifecycle of AI research, development and utilization. Also he is focused on creating industrial-grade generative AI while prioritizing AI ethics and forming a partnership with global organizations such as UNESCO to promote ethical AI globally. Through his various global activities, LG will continue to strengthen its technical and ethical capabilities to make AI for a better life.
