12 November 14:30 - 16:30 | Belém, Brazil
The world stands at a pivotal moment. As countries prepare to submit their new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) ahead of COP30, it is increasingly clear that achieving the 1.5°C goal demands not incremental progress but a quantum leap in ambition and implementation.
The 13th Annual High-Level Meeting of Caring for Climate, convened by the UN Global Compact, the UN Environment Programme and UN Climate Change, will bring together leaders and senior executives from Business, Government, finance, civil society, and the United Nations to showcase solutions that demonstrate how accelerating climate action is not a cost, but the only viable pathway to ensure long-term profitability and survival as we move towards a net-zero, resilient economy. Participants will also discuss how Governments and Business can best align their transition plans and leverage each other to scale solutions in key areas, especially in regard to the energy transition, at the pace and scale needed while leaving no one behind.
The meeting is by invitation only and will bring together CEOs and C-Suite executives of companies, financial institutions actively engaged in climate action, alongside Government, United Nations and civil society representatives in order to enhance discussions around public-private partnerships and establish a way forward.
